Students celebrated Matariki by creating some beautiful mobiles for our classroom. Students were invited to create a response using a range of art materials to Matariki hunga nui – rememberance, Matariki ahunga nui – celebrating the present and Matariki manako nui – looking to the future.
We discussed and reflected on our connections to these concepts by coming together and participating in Karakia, Karakia kai and sharing some kai!
