In cooking last week, the students worked on creating cupcakes to support the evening “feeds” that take place around Ōtautahi.
We reached out to Flow Waaka, famous for their work feeding the homeless on both TikTok and 7 Sharp, who organises morning feeds for the homeless at Margaret Mahey park, and was able to direct us to a feed on Thursday.
The students were excited about creating and giving. They also had the opportunity to eat some treats the next day when they celebrated Halloween in Art and EF group by making iced biscuits and one of our students, Sam Richards, taught a group how to make origami bats (they did a superb job).

Christmas Crafts started the week of the 3rd of November. It runs every week at 10am -11am. This week students made baubles filled with treats. Some were extremely artistic and unique. This wee piece from Nathan was pretty cool. Goldfish wearing santa caps, love it!
Art group now runs twice a week as the demand is so high. This week students made Mark Making art. Painting natural finds such as leaves and stones to create art works.
