Xavier’s Archery Trip

We went to ‘Two arrows archery’ in the Maitai Valley in Nelson with Glenn. My mum drove me in our car on Thursday. Some teachers, some other health school students and some mums were there. There were about 15 people.

Archery was good fun. The best thing I liked was hitting the bullseye but hitting the target was difficult and my fingers sometimes hurt when you are firing the arrow. It was fun and it would be good to go again.

For our next trip we should try gold panning in a river!

Archery by Emma Bennett

On a cold wintery morning

Greeted by dense bush, low cloud and drizzle

Nervous faces gathered around

A new experience we had found

Armed with leather sleeve, bow and arrow

In a line facing targets

Arrows dropping to the ground

Disappointed sighs

Wanting to give up but giving it another try

Slowly but surely the sun peeped through the cloud

It was warm at last

Bird song and creek noise filled the air

Arrows flying everywhere

Hitting targets all around

A competition was had

Leaving feeling confident and accomplished

I wonder what our next adventure will be
