This term we are welcoming two new student representatives onto the board, Hannah Brookes and Abbey Wilson. They have been co-opted onto the board to ensure we incorporate student voice in our decision making.

Student Representative My name is Abbey Wilson and I was a student at the Rangiora Classroom of Southern Health School from 2022-2024. I am currently in my first year studying Journalism at New Zealand Broadcasting School. I had a great experience at Southern Health School and I would love to be able to continue to help this be the case for other students by highlighting student voice and making sure students are at the centre of every decision made by the board. |

Student Representative Hello, my name is Hannah. I am 19 years old and am studying a Bachelor of Animal Science through Massey University via distance. I enrolled in the Southern Health School in 2019 in Year 8 and was a student through to the end of Year 13 in 2024. Through this time, Health School helped me tremendously while I was trying to navigate very complex medical conditions as well as fulfil my love of learning. Unfortunately, due to my health, I very rarely made it to an actual classroom and was supported at home by the teaching staff. Navigating education alongside health challenges is hard and unless you have walked in the shoes of someone who has, it can be difficult to understand. Serving on the board will give me the opportunity to share my insight into lived experiences. |
