Our Nelson and Motueka ākonga enjoyed a ‘cake decorating for beginners’ session with our very talented teacher Kirsty Jones.

Kirsty made each student their own cake and taught ākonga the process of decorating. Students built resilience through coming in to a busy session with others and took a risk to learn a new skill. It was tricky to decide on a theme to start with but ākonga watched and learned from each other.

There was some great conversations and interactions to show support and share ideas. The cakes looked pretty amazing as well!
